Description:
Year of construction: 1953. 1916 BMW had taken over the Fahrzeugfabrik Eisenach, which was developed into the central production plant of BMW in the 1930th. The EMW 327 was produced there from 1937 to 1941. With its streamlined shape the EMW 327 cabriolets and coupes rank among the most beautiful pre-war sports cars. After World War II BMW resumed production in Eisenach first. Due to legal and license disputes with the Russian administration in Thuringia BMW relocates production to other locations in 1952. Subsequently BMW became EMW (Eisenacher Motorenwerke) and the blue-and-white logo became red-and-white. Up to 1955 500 cabriolets and 152 coupes EMW 327 were produced - almost unchanged compared with the pre-war model BMW 327 and also equipped with a 2 litre 6-cylinder engine with 55 hp. This EMW 327 coupe is an early model from 1953. It was delivered to a Swedish customer and remained in Sweden until 2014. The vehicle was unrestored and partially dismantled, but almost all parts were still existing. The car has been fully restored in Germany, using mainly refurbished original parts. The restoration was completed in 2017. The EMW is roadworthy. A (German) expert opinion for the registration as a historic vehicle is available. Frame up restoration, Condition 1. The car can be inspected in the Classic Centrum Zwickau, Breithauptstrasse 3-5, 08056 Zwickau. Date according to agreement.
