The Company of Gebrüder Weber was founded in 1880 and operating out of Waldkirch
in the Black Forest. They built the most sophisticated mechanical music instruments in the
world and with the incredible Gustav Bruder arranging the music for the Weber instruments
their classic music is by far the best. While manufacturers in Europe and America concen-
trated on the quantity of instruments, Weber’s main concern was the musical quality. The
Otero was the fourth largest instrument Weber manufactured. None of the Weber Elite exists
anymore and only 7 Maesto and less Solea are known today worldwide. The highest price
paid for a Weber Maesto was over 1 Million $. Jerry’s Otero is an early one and has the orig-
inal glass with a moving scene, depicting the bridge over the river Rhein at Schaffhausen,
Switzerland. He bought it from Carl Frei, who found it in the Black Forest, moved and hidden
away from World War II by the restaurant owner. The Otero consist of a Feurich piano of ex-
cellent quality with mandolin attachment, a rank of violin and flute pipes, castanets and full
percussion. The Otero is one of the most wanted instruments.
