The artist flattened and polished only the inside, the top and the bottom and leaving the blocks on all the outsides in their natural shape exactly as they are commonly found on the Baltic shores. With this technique the contrast enhances the natural beauty of the uncut Amber in all its facettes. Beeindruckendes Schmuckkästchen aus Bernstein. Wähtend der Künstler neben dem Innenleben nur den Deckel und den Boden der Schatulle abgeflacht und plangeschliffen hat, verblieben die grossen Bernstein-Fundstücke an den Aussenseiten weitestgehend in ihrem polygonalen Fundzustand und wurden nur poliert. Nur durch den bei dieser Kombination beider Techniken entstehenden Kontrast wird die ganze Schönheit und der Facettenreichtum natürlichen Bernsteins erst offenbar.
