A terra-cotta figure appears to play a Style 103 Polyphon music box with 77 musical
notes, which uses a 15 ¾ “disc. When a coin is dropped in a slot in the form of an alms dish
the music box starts to play and a crank connected to the figure’s arm gives it a circular mo-
tion in the manner of an organ grinder.
Reproduction of the Savoyard in terra-cotta and wood were made in the late 20th cen-
tury, but this is one of the few all original specimen.
