Julius Bartholomeus Vander Beken was born in 1868. He received the training in build-
ing mechanical organs at the works of Louis Francois Hooghuys. In 1909 the family left Ger-
aardsbergen and lived in Enghien, where he started his own organ business. Only a very
limited number of high standard organs were built and Julius died in Enghien in 1948 at the
age of 80. The organ is completely restored by the late Belgium organ restorer - Johnny Ver-
beeck. The organ front was made new, in the Coney Island style, out of original Bruder and
Mortier carvings. A fantastic cardboard operated carousel organ – the only one in America.
